Pictured above: my father's 1955 Goggomobile Scooter on which he traveled throughout the Netherlands during the 1950's, representing the Verstraete family business of school supplies and bookbinding. I remember with great fondness the times my father took me along on the back of the scooter with my arms wrapped tight around his long leather coat. We'd stop for lunch at a local roadside cafe.
